History
Founded in 1978, Zacks began processing, organizing and evaluating research produced by US brokerage firms. Today Zacks receives daily electronic data feeds and printed research reports on over 10,000 companies from over 185 brokerage firms, produced by more than 3,200 analysts amounting to over 500,000 pages of brokerage research.

 

Zacks' early contribution to investment analysis was the discovery that earnings per share estimate revisions are the most powerful force affecting stock prices, which gave birth to the Zacks Indicator. This, along with being the first to calculate consensus EPS estimates of quarterly earnings (1981), and to create the concept of EPS surprises, as well as the first to analyze price response to EPS surprises placed Zacks among the top innovating pioneers in the industry.

Zacks & Advertising
In 1996 www.zacks.com was launched and soon became not only a powerful tool for investors, but a valuable online media space for advertisers. Many advertisers found unprecedented success promoting their own website throughout www.zacks.com. Zacks recognized the value of their client’s websites and saw an opportunity to unite them to provide advertisers a vertically focused network. In 2001 Zacks launched Investor Reach, www.investor-reach.com.

 

Now many of the sites within the network are opening their media to advertisers marketing higher end products and services – health care, travel, auto, technology, just to name a few – that have similar demographic targets. At the same time, current advertisers, many which are also publishers, are also looking to Zacks to find new interactive outlets, outside of finance.

 

Customer relationships, industry knowledge, remarkable growth, niche focus, technology with a human touch, and a unique business proposition prompted Zacks to expand its approach into other verticals, and the launch of VerticalReach. Zacks understands that while each vertical has various websites with different communications and philosophies, many have complementary audiences, that respond very well to appropriately targeted advertisements that match the vertical’s user profile.

 

Following a similar approach to the development of financial advertising network, Zacks has developed and continues to grow partnerships with numerous high-end, organically built vertically focused websites.
